Raymond La Fayette McGraw, 78
Raymond La Fayette McGraw, 78 of West Portsmouth died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at his home. Raymond was born December 14, 1927 in South Portsmouth, KY to the late La Fayette and Edith Stephenson McGraw. He retired from Osco Industries where he worked as Maintenance Supervisor. Raymond was a WWII Army Veteran, a Life Member of Russell D. Williams Post 471, Member of the 40 & 8, Moose Lodge, Portsmouth Eagles, and United Commercial Travelers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Bibbey McGraw. He is survived by a son, Raymond La Fayette McGraw IV of West Portsmouth; a daughter, Susan K. Montgomery of West Portsmouth; two sisters, Wanda Calloway of Lexington, KY, and Martha Journey of Union, Kentucky; and four grandsons, Nathaniel L. McGraw, Nathaniel Ray McGraw, Tyler Ray McGraw, and Andrew Ray McGraw.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter McGraw, William McGraw, George Ober and John Ober; two sisters, Leona Brown and Avanelle Pressley.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in Sunset Gardens Cemetery with graveside Military Rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 9 P.M. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
