Richard L. Carver, 71 Richard L. "Harvey" Carver, 71 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday February 2, 2014 at SOMC Hospice. He was born August 10, 1942 in Portsmouth to the late Ernest and Analue Fishburn Carver. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Thomas Brown and Robert Carver. Harvey was retired from Plum Run Stone Quarry where he had worked for 30 years, and was a member of the Portsmouth Eagles. He loved the outdoors; camping and boating and he loved to travel. He and his wife Pat were currently the caretakers of the Portsmouth City Riverfront Campground. Harvey dearly loved his family and friends as well as his little dog "Chloe". Harvey is survived by his wife Pat Litreal Carver who he married on June 10, 2000, 4 sons; Rick (Katie) Carver of Hillsboro, Richie Carver of Peebles, Rusty (Dee) Carver of Blue Creek and Dwayne (April) Litreal of Rarden, 2 daughters; MaryAnn Litreal of McDermott and Carla (Keith) Warren of Portsmouth, 3 brothers; Bill (Cindy) Carver of Bellefonte, OH., Paul (Betty) Carver of Lucasville and Junior (Molly) Carver of West Portsmouth, 2 sisters; Patty (Jeff) Brunger of South Shore and Faye Trueblood of Anderson, IN., 2 sister in laws; Robin Carver of South Shore and Linda (John) Mitchell of Colorado Springs, CO., 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 7:30 PM Wednesday February 5, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Phillips and Kenny Carver officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to SOMC Hospice or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Richard's name.
