Richard Thomas Purtee, 69

Richard Thomas "Tom" Purtee, 69 of Portsmouth, died Friday October 14, 2022 at SOMC Hospice. He was born August 25, 1953 in Portsmouth to the late Willard and Joan Donley Purtee. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Purtee Jr. and a sister Karen Sue Purtee.

Tom was a 1973 graduate of Portsmouth High School and was a retired Cook at Hillview Retirement Center.

Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years Klaire Taylor Purtee, whom he married on December 30, 1977. 2 daughters: Cecilia (Thomas) Sherman and Abigail Purtee, a brother Steve Purtee, 5 sisters: Lois Ward, Pamela Allen, Hope Arthur, Sharon Fraley and Sandy Luther, 4 grandchildren: Colton, Kace, Lindy and Josephine Sherman, along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday October 20, 2022 at Scioto Burial Park with Evan Fisher and Allison T. Bauer officiating. Family and friends will gather starting at 10:00 AM.
