Rita Diane Bauer Journey, 69

Rita Diane Bauer Journey, 69 of West Portsmouth, Ohio went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 16, 2006 after an extended illness. Rita was born in Jackson, Ohio on January 20, 1937 to the late Edward and Lavetta Poe Bauer. Rita was a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. She had a great love for the Church Members and the Church. Rita was a past president of LDS Relief Society.

Rita is survived by her husband of 52 years William Ross Journey whom she married June 2, 1954 in Deborn IN. She was the Mother of two sons, Edward W. (Rusty) Rita Sue Journey of South Portsmouth, KY and William A. and Ozela Logan Journey. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Crystal H. Journey Belford of Columbus, Heather Journey of West Portsmouth, William Joseph (BJ) and Jana Blevins Journey of Rosemount and Anthony W. and Chrissi Maddy Journey of West Portsmouth; four great grandchildren, Bronte and Tiffany Belford of South Portsmouth, KY, Caleb Journey of Rosemount, and Kali Journey of West Portsmouth. She is also survived by one brother Edward S. Bauer, Jr. of Lakeland Florida that she loved like her own sons and a sister Susan Smith of Dayton, OH. Rita was preceded in death by a brother "Tony" Bauer and a sister Sherri Lee Bauer Vaughn.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with President Chris Urbach officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family may donate to their favorite charity.
