Robert Earl Bolton, 77
Robert Earl "Bob" Bolton, 77, of Otway, Ohio and Dandridge, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ August 23, 2022 after being injured in a car accident. He passed peacefully with family by his side. He was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Archie and Zell Howard Bolton.
Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Priscilla Fraley Bolton whom he married on March 4, 1967, his beloved daughter Jennifer Bolton and 2 brothers; Delbert and Kenneth Bolton.
Bob was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and earned an honorable discharge after serving two tours in the Vietnam War. After the war, he worked as a welder for Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was also a farmer and hunter who loved John Wayne and watching western movies.
In his later years, Bob enjoyed living by Douglas Lake, spending time with his family, and driving around the Smoky Mountains to see the bears. He was a regular attender at the Gum Stand Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN.
Most importantly, Bob was a Christian and a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was known to his grandchildren as "Paps." He loved spending time with them and could be counted on to join them in any fun they were having.
He is survived by his daughter Malissa (Mike) Pistole, his son Jeremy (Michaela) Bolton, granddaughters Brea (Benjamin) Kite and Tori Coriell, grandson Ethan Bolton, and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Noon Monday August 29, 2022 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Ron Reagan officiating. Interment will be in Mershon Cemetery with military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7:00 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
