Robert Davis, 79

Robert Davis, 79 of Portsmouth, died Friday December 4, 2009 at Heartland of Portsmouth. He was born October 25, 1930 in Parentown, Ohio to the late Oscar and Effie Newman Davis. He was retired from Marting's was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of First Church of God in New Boston. Along with his parents Robert was preceded in death by his first wife Lois Jane Frump Davis, a brother Oscar Jr., 4 sisters; Mary Alice Barlow, Christine Throckmorton, Barbara Kay Davis and Betty Ann Davis, a granddaughter Amy Frazier.

Robert is survived by his wife Dorothy Stiles Davis who he married on April 27, 1991, a son Ronnie (Cathy) Davis of McDermott, a daughter Linda (Larry) Fritz of Lucasville, 2 sisters; Margie Evans of McDermott and Charlene Ramsey of Northern Ohio, 3 grandchildren; Amy (Mike) Biggs, Nathan Davis and Christopher (Ragina) Fritz, 2 great granddaughters; Brooklyn and Kalyn Biggs, 4 nieces he raised; Garnet (Joe) Nelson, Paula Lawless, Barb Lewis and Betty Lawless, 1 stepson Larry (Brenda) Stiles of Bath, Oh., 2 stepdaughters; Marsha (Don) Venturino of Lucasville and Lori (Ray) Frazier of Lewis Center, OH, 3 stepgrandsons and 5 Step granddaughters along with 3 step great granddaughters; Bailee, Rylie and Kirsten.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday December 7, 2009 at the First Church of God in New Boston with Acy Gibson officiating and interment in Odle Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from noon until the funeral hour. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
