Robert Lee Kennard, 71
Robert Lee Kennard, 71, a life long West Portsmouth resident went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Hillview Health Care Center. Robert was born February 23, 1933 in West Portsmouth to the late Letcher and Hettie Williams Kennard. Bob retired from Empire Detroit Steel; served as a trustee for Rehoboth Mission; was a Past Master and member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge and a member of the Acacia Club; a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the DAV; and a former Washington Twp. Trustee, a good friend and neighbor to all.
Bob is survived by his wife Wilma Jean Williams Kennard; two sons, Robert (Teresa) Kennard of Berthoud, Colorado, Tom (Jo Anne) Kennard of Loveland, Ohio; one daughter Kimberly (Lou) Bennett of West Portsmouth; three brothers, Marvin (Rita) Kennard of Wheelersburg, Ernest (Joyce) Kennard of Tampa, Florida, and Bill (Donna) Kennard of Tifton, Georgia; two sisters, Jewell (Bob) Wilson of Moreasville, Louisiana and Lena Jarrells of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Wendi (Sean) McInerney of Cheyene, Wyoming,, Dustin Kennard of Berthoud, Colorado, Katie Jo Miller Kennard of Loveland, Colorado, Kristi (Jayson) Coleman of West Portsmouth, Keri (Alan) Smith of Loveland, Ohio and Madeline, Andrea, and Jacob Kennard of Loveland; five great grandchildren, Michael, Bryan and Tomas McInerney of Cheyene, Wyoming; Kayleigh Coleman of West Portsmouth and Emma Jo Miller Kennard of Loveland, Colorado, and a special niece Linda Blythe.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, January 24, 2005 at Rehoboth Mission Church in West Portsmouth with Paul Hagen officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park with Graveside Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 3 to 6 P.M. Sunday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. The Family's Favorite Charity is Hospice of Southern Ohio, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662 Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
