Rocky J. Adkins, 50

Rocky J. Adkins, 50 of West Portsmouth, passed away Thursday June 11, 2009 surrounded by family and friends at SOMC Hospice. He was born December 29, 1958 in Portsmouth to the late Henry Adkins and Cheryl F. Adkins of West Portsmouth. He was a local businessman and of the Baptist faith. Along with his father he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Lester Moore.

Rocky is survived by his wife Tammy Adkins who he married on May 17, 1980, 2 sons Rocky "Jay" and Colton Adkins both of West Portsmouth, 2 brothers; Doug (Jill) Adkins and Jody (Mary) Adkins all of West Portsmouth, 2 sisters; Shirley (Robert) Idzakovich of Portsmouth and Lisa (Steve) Clevenger of Wheelersburg, brother-in-law Tim Moore of Minford and sister-in law Leigh (Bill) Gerlach of Wheelersburg, mother-in-law Delores Moore of Rosemount along with special friends and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8:00 PM Monday June 15, 2009 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Alfa "Buddy" Patrick and Brian Waller officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home starting at 3:00PM on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Portsmouth West Alumni Association Scholarship fund in Rocky and Henry Adkins' name.
