Rocky Edward Dunkin, 24
Rocky Edward Dunkin, 24 of Friendship died Sunday July 1, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born August 1, 1987 in Portsmouth to Rocky Lee (Renee Lynn) Dunkin and Alice (Normand) Bradley Tremblay. He is a 2006 graduate of New Boston High School where he played soccer, baseball and basketball and attended Shawnee State University where he played on the soccer team. He is a Fireman with the New Boston Fire Department and served as a Lieutenant in the Nile Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was an assistant coach for the New Boston High School soccer and baseball teams. He was also a member of the 7th Street Christian Baptist Church in Portsmouth. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and he loved working with kids.
Rocky was preceded in death by his grandparents; Mary and Eddie Dunkin, Emogene Goode, Carolyn Deaver and George Stevens.
Along with his parents Rocky is survived by his wife Ashley Michelle Stevens Dunkin who he married on June 11, 2011 in West Portsmouth, 2 brothers; Paul Dwayne "AJ" Foit of South Shore and Ronald Lee Foit of New Boston, 4 stepbrothers; Shane D.Adkins of Myrtle Beach, SC and Joshua S. Skaggs of Wheelersburg, Keith Trembley and Normand Tremblay both of Lancaster, 2 step sisters; Dusty A Blevins of Wheelersburg and Donna Tooill of Louisville, father and mother-in-law Mike and Bev Stevens of West Portsmouth along with brothers and sisters-in-laws; Shawn and Katie Stevens, Michael and Ernie Stevens and Heather and DJ Everman, several loving aunts, uncles cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday July 7, 2012 at the Portsmouth West High School in West Portsmouth with Charles Whitaker and Darren Lore officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery with graveside rites by the Firefighters Honor Guard. Friends may call at the Portsmouth West High School on Friday from 4 to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
