Rodney E. Collins, 70

Rodney E. Collins, 70 of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday January 1, 2014 at his home. He was born May 17, 1943 in Warren Ohio to the late William E. and Mozelle Collins. He was a 1961 graduate of Champion High School in Warren, Ohio. Rodney worked at Greer Steele for 30 years. He was a retired Publisher from Heartland Publications in Hopewell Virginia. He also worked at the First Christian Church in Portsmouth where he served as chairmen of the board and was also a member. He was a lover of animals and enjoyed working on cars. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Gary Collins.

Rodney is survived by his wife Cynthia K. Lutz Collins who he married on May 8, 1968, a son Christopher E. (K.C.) Collins of Lake Butler, FL and a daughter Tina K. Whaley of Wheelersburg, 5 grandchildren; Zakary Collins, Bryan Jordan, Brandon Collins, Tempestt Collins and Meagan Collins and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday January 5, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Portsmouth with David Malone officiating. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Saturday and one hour prior to the service at the church.
