Roger "Carbide" Tackett, Jr., 34

Roger Keith Tackett, Jr., 34 of West Portsmouth died at the home of a friend Sunday, October 28, 2007. Roger was born October 7, 1973 in Portsmouth to Roger Keith Tackett of West Portsmouth and Linda Lou Vastine Walters of Piketon. Roger graduated from Northwest High School in 1992 and from the Vocational School Welding Class. He was a self employed Auto Body repairman.

Roger is also survived by two sisters, Angel (Joe Tipman) Tackett of Lucasville and Brandee Tackett of Lucasville; Maternal grandmother Ada Vastine; a girl friend Stephanie Maynard; three aunts, Debbie Pratt, Janet Reutinger, and Nancy Bays; two nieces Destanee and Katrina and two nephews, Rusty and Brandon. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Robert Vastine and paternal grandparents Estil and Dixie Tackett and Uncle Larry Vastine.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with George Vastine officiating and interment in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the family.
