Ronald Lee Piatt, 63

Ronald Lee Piatt, 63 of West Portsmouth, went home to be with the Lord, doing what he loved, farming, May 19, 2010 at his home. He loved farming, hunting gardening and doing what he loved most playing with his grandchildren. Ronald was retired from Heckett Multi Service, where he worked for 37 years. He loved to sit on the porch, watch the cattle and talk to everyone. If he saw you out or you talked to him, he would say, "Come on down and eat with us, I'll fix you a steak." He loved his family very much and will be sadly missed by everyone that came into contact with him.

Ronald was born on June 27, 1946 in Portsmouth to the late George Gilbert Piatt and Dorothy Maynard Piatt of Friendship. Along with his mother he is survived by his wife Karen S. Piatt, 3 children and 4 step children; Heath Landon Piatt, Seth Lyndon Piatt, Paige Elizabeth Piatt (Aaron Donini), Rebecca Lynn Webb, Timothy Phillip (Jessica Nicole) Wolfe, Casey J. (Teresa) Wolfe, Amy Jessica (Chad) Piatt, a brother George (Darlene) Piatt, special uncle Lewis Maynard, and niece Kelly Piatt, His grandchildren are: Colin, Lanie, Zane, Evan, Katie, Caroline, Jordan, Tiffany, Chandler, Ian, Kaelee, Alathea, Deaglan, Cassie, Matthew, Kenzie, Morgan and Kennedy and great grandchild Raelee. Ronald was also preceded in death by a sister Linda Distel.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday May 23, 2010 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Howard Pruitt officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery.
