Ruby Pauline Stephens, 88

Ruby Pauline Stephens, 88 of McDermott, went to be with the Lord on Monday November 10, 2008 at Rest Haven Nursing Home where she resided for the past eight years and where she was given excellent care. She was born September 13, 1920 in Scioto County to the late Steven and Bertha Bolton Bond. She was a retired surgical assistant at Southern Ohio Medical Center for 23 years. Ruby was also a member of the Eastern Star, James Dickey Post 23 Auxiliary, Scioto Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and attended McDermott United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Along with her parents Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Elmer David Stephens, a daughter Rose Stephens Mullins, a grandson Jason Stephens, a grandson-in-law P.J. Shaffer, a brother Paul Bond 3 sisters:. Marjorie Pinkerton, Emma Mae "Jane" Lewis and Ida Osborne

Ruby is survived by 3 sons; James (Betty) Stephens of Winfield, Alabama, William (Karen) Stephens of McDermott and Jeffrey (Nancy) Stephens of West Portsmouth, 2 daughters; Laura (Virgil) Copas of Lucasville and Charlotte Green of Portsmouth, 2 brothers; Steve Bond of South Charleston, Ohio and Joe Bond of Sciotoville, 2 sisters; Marie Wilson of Otway and Nellie Woodruff of Grove City, 13 grandchildren, Diana Maple, Janeena Zilipski, Lisa Howard, Angie Holmes, Kim Pettit, David Mullins, Mathew Copas, Kari Raines, Amy Ellis, Jimmy Stephens, Scott Green, Stacey Stephens and Lindsay Doss and 28 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday November 13, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jim Poole officiating and interment in Rockwell Cemetery.
