Russell Keith Hopkins, 54
Russell Keith "Rusty" Hopkins, 54 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday June 26, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. He was born November 12, 1957 in Portsmouth to the late A. Keith Hopkins and Shirley Nichols Hopkins of West Portsmouth. Rusty was retired from Washington Township He was a former member of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and was also a former Squad Chief. Rusty loved all sports, he was involved in the West Portsmouth Little League and was a Sports Official for over 35 years with the Ohio High School Athletic Association. He was the Camper Host for Shawnee State Park Campground. He loved camping, hunting and most of all spending time with his grandkids.
Along with his mother, Rusty is survived by his wife Belinda Caudill Hopkins who he married on May 29, 1976 in Portsmouth, 2 sons; Brian Russell Hopkins of Vermont and Anthony David Hopkins and wife Terrie of Lucasville, a daughter Keeli Morgan of West Portsmouth, 4 sisters; Vicki Bormann of Silver Springs, MD, Beverly Mauger and Pamela Shue both of Lancaster, Linda Hopkins of Seattle, WA, 6 grandchildren, Dillon Hopkins, Dalton Hopkins, Devon Hopkins, Kayden Hopkins, Tiffany Burke and Chris Burke, mother-in-law Wilma Gore of West Portsmouth along with several brother and sister-in laws and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday July 1, 2012 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4:00 PM and 6 to 8:00 PM on Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. The family's favorite charity is SOMC Hospice.
