Samuel D. Rexroad, 75
Samuel D. Rexroad, 75 of West Portsmouth went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 24, 2006 at Heartland of Portsmouth. Samuel was born August 1, 1931 in West Portsmouth to Osborne and Nellie Ancel Day Rexroad. He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran, a construction worker, and a member of the Community Church of Christ.
Samuel is survived by his wife Alma Jean Shope Rexroad whom he married on September 21, 1952. He is also survived by three sons, Michael Rexroad of Charleston, WVA and Gregory Rexroad of Charleston, SC, Kevin Rexroad of McDermott: a daughter Cynthia Horsley of West Portsmouth; a sister Gertrude McIntire of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Mike, Stephanie, Matthew, Dustin, Cory, Heath, John, and Carrie; seven great grandchildren, Christopher, Jacob, Angel, Candy, Ryan, Delenna, and Jonathan. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Thomas, and Oscar and Ansel Rexroad; three sisters, Juanita Rexroad Lute, Genevieve Myers, and Marcella Coleman.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 28. 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with William E. Krueger officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park with Graveside Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The family's favorite charity is Hospice of Heartland.
