Sara Jane Hartley, 75

Sara Jane Hartley of 3319 Hillview Apts, Portsmouth, OH passed away at Southern Ohio Medical Center on November 18, 2006. Jane was born November 12, 1931 in Amsterdam, Ohio. She graduated from Amsterdam High School in 1950 and received a Bachelor's Degree in fine arts with a teachers certificate from Miami University in 1954.
Jane retired from the Carrollton School System where she taught for many years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and was an avid supporter of Public Radio and the Salvation Army.

Jane was preceded in death by her mother Catherine Horshok, her father Alex Hartley and step fathers John Fairclough and Mike Horshok.

She is survived by her sister Catherine Fairclough Jones and husband Ronald, nephew Michael and wife Wendy and two great nephews Brandon and Austin Jones all of Portsmouth. She is also survived by a step brother Jack Fairclough and wife Charlotte of Amsterdam, OH.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jane's life will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the Carrollton, Ohio Presbyterian Church on Lisbon Street with Fred Boggs officiating.
