Steve C. Ellis, 65

Steve C. Ellis, 65 of Wheelersburg, died Saturday March 11, 2017 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born September 1, 1951 in Dayton to the late Charles and Eva Burchett Ellis. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William Michael Ellis. Steve was a retired pipeline operator with 32 years of service and attended Grace Independent Baptist Church in Greenup, KY.

Steve coached many years for Wheelersburg Little League and High School, where he lead a Senior League team & High school team to State Championships. He touched many young men's lives in his lifetime. For many years you could find him on ball fields all over. He was also an avid golfer. But most of all he was a family man. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his wife Cheryl Adkins Ellis, whom he married on October 9, 1971, 2 sons; Christopher Steven (Laura) Ellis and Casey Matthew (Lisa) Ellis, 2 brothers; Hank (Terry) Ellis and Jeff (Kathy) Ellis, 3 sisters; Sherry (Jim) Montgomery, Peggy (Charles) Hurt, and Robin Ellis, 4 grandchildren; Chase Ellis, Grace Ellis, Caylin Ellis, and Austin Ellis, and his little buddy Cooper.

Funeral services will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Gary Arthur officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 4:00 PM. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wheelersburg High School baseball and sent to the board office at 620 Center Street, Wheelersburg, Ohio, 45694, in Steve's name.
