Steven Clay "Steve" Coleman, 56

Steven Clay "Steve" Coleman, 56 of West Portsmouth, was surrounded by his loving family as he went to rejoice with the Lord and his heavenly family on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born May 16, 1953 in Portsmouth to the late Bill and Marcella Rexroad Coleman. He was a retired teacher from Washington-Nile Schools and also retired from construction at Boone Coleman Construction Company. Steve loved to garden and loved delivering his produce to others. He also loved to play cards and golf. He attended Conerstone United Methodist Church.

Steve is survived by his wife Karla Peirce Coleman who he married on April 23, 1976, a son and his wife; Corey and Jenny Coleman of Atlanta, GA, a daughter and her husband Marti and Joe Veach of Cincinnati, 4 grandchildren; Morgan Coleman of Atlanta, Katie Veach, Talan Coleman and Aiden Veach all of Cincinnati, 3 brothers; Perry (Karen) Coleman, Scott (Kim) Coleman and Jeff Coleman all of West Portsmouth, a sister Vicki (Joe) Bloomfield of West Portsmouth, mother-in-law Bernice Peirce of New Boston, sister-in laws; Becky (Jay) Howe and Linda Timberlake both of Portsmouth, brother-in-law Barry Peirce of Columbus, along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday October 2, 2009 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Portsmouth with Pastor Clark Hess officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
