Thelma DeArmond, 79
Thelma DeArmond, 79 of West Portsmouth died Sunday March 30, 2008 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born April 6, 1928 in West Portsmouth to the late Vassie E. and Nellie Bond Puckett. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Town United Methodist Church. At the age of 15 Thelma went to Cleveland to help the war effort and worked in a bomb factory. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband Paul Reed, 2 brothers Roy and John Puckett and a sister Virginia Perio.
Thelma is survived by her husband Jerry DeArmond whom she married on April 11, 1959, 4 daughters; Donna (Glynn) Staten of Jackson, Linda (Sam) Preston of McDermott, Susan (AJ) Edwards of Avon, Ohio and Sandy (Ray) DeArmond-Koch of Northbrook, Ill, 2 brothers; Woodrow Puckett of Xenia and Walter Puckett of Dayton, 6 grandchildren; Vanessa Staten, Darren Staten, Matthew Preston, Sarah Burkhardt, Anna Edwards and Jessica Edwards and 1 great grandchild Kurt Wesley.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday April 3, 2008 at Old Town United Methodist in West Portsmouth with Reverend Matthew Brookes officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 5to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church.
