Thomas R. "Tom" Payne, 82

Thomas R. "Tom" Payne, 82 of West Portsmouth passed away Monday July 24, 2017 at SOMC Hospice. He was born May 24, 1935 in Portsmouth to the late Harvey and Pearl Meade Payne. Tom was a United States Army veteran where he was Military Police at White Sands Missile Range. He was retired from Labors Local 83 and SOMC as an employee bus driver. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother Ronald Payne.

Tom is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Patricia "Pat" Arnett Payne of 64 years, one daughter Jill (Keith) Payne Carr of West Portsmouth, a granddaughter McKenzie (Tim) Carr Large of Rubyville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday July 27, 2017 at Pine Grove United Baptist Church in West Portsmouth with Elder David Trimble officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with military graveside rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth on Wednesday from 5 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
