Thurman Ealey, 91

Thurman "Denny" Ealey, 91 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday December 24, 2013 at the Chillicothe V.A. Hospital in Chillicothe. He was born January 20, 1922 in Johnson County, KY to the late Luther and Lilly Ealey. He was an Army WWII Veteran and fought at the Battle of the Bulge and Bastone. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Laborers' Local 83. He was a member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church and Nauvoo Masonic Lodge # 769. Along with his parents Thurman was preceded in death by his beloved wife Irene Ealey who he married March 18, 1946, 2 sisters; Garnett and Queen and 2 brothers Howard and Hershel.

Thurman is survived by a son Robert (Kim) Ealey of Portsmouth, a sister Helena Swords of West Portsmouth, 4 grandchildren; Chad (Shelly) Ealey of McDermott, Scott (Lori) Ealey of Denver, CO, Nathan (Holly) Hawkins of Lawrenceburg, KY and Katie Hawkins of Portsmouth, 4 great grandchildren; Ivan, Connor, Cassidy and Clarice, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday December 29, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post #23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Saturday and 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday.
