Thurman Herbert Pertuset
Thurman Herbert Pertuset, Sr. 75 of West Portsmouth went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2007.
He was born October 16, 1932 in West Portsmouth. He is the son of the late Herbert and Isabel (Oppy) Pertuset.
He was a graduate of Otway High School, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a retired carpenter of Carpenters Local 437, and a member of Henley Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Fonda (Dunn) Pertuset of 52 years. They were married April 30, 1955; three sons: Thurman Pertuset, Jr. (Pam) of McDermott, Richard Pertuset (Vickie) of Minford; Philip Pertuset (Peggy) of West Portsmouth; three daughters: Kathy Cooper (Tony) of Canton, Ohio; Patty Mohrfeld (Mike) of Aiken, SC, Gloria Pistole (Steve) of Wheelersburg; two brothers: Bernard Pertuset (Nancy) and Wayne Pertuset (Brenda) both of McDermott. Eleven Grandchildren: Michelle Crabtree, Tommy (Renee) Jones, Stacy Fausnaugh, Paul (Lauren) Cooper, Megan (Ben) Morrison, Kyle Pertuset, Brett Pertuset, Nathan Cooper, Josh, Jessie and Hunter Pistole; three great-grandchildren: Cole, Allie and Ethan Morrison. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and was a friend and joke teller to all. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Frances Wiley Jr. and Tony Cooper officiating. Interment will be at Garvin Cemetery in McDermott with Graveside Military Rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
