Troy Adkins 69

Troy Adkins 69 of Columbus a former Lucasville and Nile Lane resident passed away Monday, August 7, 2006 at Heartland Victorian Village in Columbus. Troy was born March 17, 1937 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Isom and Anna Rowe Adkins. He was a 42 year member of Local 55 Bricklayers; a Kentucky Colonel; and founder of J&P Calking & Masonry Restoration in 1981.

Troy is survived by his wife Shirley Nance Adkins whom he married January 27, 1957 in Lucasville, Ohio. He is also survived by one daughter, Connie (Anthony) Bauman of Groveport; 3 sons, Craig (Tonda) Adkins of Columbus, Paul (Stacie) Adkins of Canal Winchester, and Jay (Sharon) Adkins of Orient; sisters, Dorothy McGraw of South Shore, KY, Christine McDonald of Portsmouth, Libby Hemming of Circleville, Lena McKinney of Portsmouth, and Patricia Steele of Portsmouth; 14 Grandchildren, Joy, Kelly, Chelsea, Benjamin Adkins of Columbus, T.J. and Elizabeth Adkins of Orient, Erica and Whitney Bauman and Ashley Blair of Groveport, Arielle, Paul David, Gracie, Abagail Adkins of Canal Winchester, Two Great Grandchildren Tatum and Michael Blair of Groveport and a Special Nephew Terry Adkins of Portsmouth. Troy was preceded in death by one son Benjamin Adkins; two brothers; Roger Adkins and Boyd "Butch" Hackbush and one grandchild Patrick Adkins.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday, August 11, 2006 at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Columbus with Dr. William Dinoff officiating and internment in the Asbury Cemetery.
