Vernia E. Wroten, 79
Vernia E. Wroten, 79 of McDermott, died Saturday December 8, 2007 at SOMC Hospice. She was born January 18, 1928 in Portsmouth to the late Jack and Elizabeth Ackerman Hoover. She was also preceded in death by her 1st husband Donald E. Neal, a daughter Elizabeth Gail Neal, 2 brothers Charles Edward and Billy Eugene Hoover and 3 sisters Mary Elizabeth Hayslip, Louella Ratliff and Charlotte Lute.
Vernia is survived by a son Acie Neal Sr , 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and 1 gt gt granchild, 2 brothers Jackie Eugene and Carl Everett Hoover, 3 sisters; Anna Bell Caudill, Darlene Warner and Hazel Ruth Crabtree, her caregiver Tammy and niece Dorothy Brannan along with several other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Meade Cemetery on Big Bear Creek with Craddock Frye officiating and interment will follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
