Violet Mae Scott, 77
Violet Mae (Brown) Scott, 77, of Lucasville, went home to be with her Lord and to be reunited with her husband, CW on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Doctors hospital in Columbus surrounded by family. She was born March 22, 1935, in Adams county (the eldest of 19 children), to the late Edgar and Dollie Brown.
Violet was a full time mother of 10 who loved to go to yard sales in her "spare" time looking for butterfly jewelry. She attended Back Run House of Prayer. She also enjoyed listening to country music while going for long walks. Violet never met a stranger and was loved by everyone she met because of this rare quality she possessed. This led to her meeting Clayton William Scott (CW or better known as Scotty) who preceded her in death in January, 2000. They had been married 49 years at the time of his passing. In addition to her parents and husband Violet was preceded in death by 3 brothers Junior, Joe & Edgar, and also 6 sisters Phyllis, Maxine, Mable, Maria, Sarah and Mary Judy
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Howard (John), Marietta Martin (Ken), Melissa, Louella, Susie, Patty Carver & also by 4 sons, William, Don, Carl & Sonny Scott (Terri); 11 grandchildren, Renee , Justin , Joe, Jeremy, Mary Beth, David , Patrick, Cheryl , Ashley, Jonothan, Paige; 11 great grandchildren, Chelsey Oakley, Tracy Lewis, Sami, Dajah, Patrick Clayton, Emmerie, Gavin, Ethan,McKenna and Joshua. She is also survived by several siblings; Pauline, Rosetta, Leroy, William Lee, Myrtle, Mary Alice, Susie, Everett and Charles
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday May 17, 2012, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rev. Paul King officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
