Virginia Rickards, 80

Virginia Ann Rickards, 80, of West Portsmouth, woke up in Jesus arms on the evening of Thursday February 26, 2015. In her last days she was surrounded by her kids, loving family and friends. She was at home and spoke before her death that she was ready to go to her Heavenly home. She was born May 17, 1934 in Scioto County to the late Marie Evans. Along with her mother she was preceded in death by grandson Rickey Eugene Rickards and a great granddaughter Kiara Jean Rickards. She was retired from Crystal Care Nursing Home in Portsmouth and was a member of Unity Full Gospel Fellowship Church in New Boston.

Virginia was the mother of 3 children; Frances (Donnie) Arthur, Rick (Judy) Rickards and Katie (Mike) Defoe. She was a grandmother of 6 who were her pride and joy; Terry Rickards, Devina Donahue, Ron Clere, Stevie Clere, Michael Defoe and Rickey Defoe. She also had 9 great grandchildren; Noah, Austin, Bryan, Abby, Christian, Marty, Morgan, Ryan and Frankie.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Rickards and Richard Stiles officiating.
