Virginia Martin, 101

Virginia Martin, 101 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Portsmouth Health and Rehab. She was born July 28, 1922 in Portsmouth to the late Reuben and Laura Nolen Smith.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Franklin Martin, 3 sons: Lloyd Franklin Martin Jr. "Butch", Paul Edward Martin and Roby Gene Martin, a brother, Eugene Smith and 2 sisters: Lillian Eileen Wright and Ruby Louise Clausing.

Virginia was a United States Marine Corp veteran of WWII. She worked at Williams Shoe Company and Patterson Paper Box and was a member of Rehoboth Mission Church.

Virginia is survived by 2 sisters: Joyce Williams and Louella Mann, a brother, Jerry Lee Smith, 3 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday September 22, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Dave Lute officiating, Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park with military rites by the James Dickey Post # 23.
