Walter Frazier, 70
Walter Frazier, 70, a former West Portsmouth resident died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Walter was born February 27, 1934 in Greenup County, Kentucky to the late Robert and Elizabeth Newsome Frazier (Frasure).
He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force on August 1, 1974. He retired from the Federal Civil Service as a Federal Construction Inspector on May 18, 1988. He was both a Federal Correctional Officer, and for three years was a State Correctional Officer (Peace Officer) with the state of Georgia. Walter was also a licensed Insurance Agent with the State of Ohio.
Walter is survived by two sons, Walter Alan Pichot of Springboro, Ohio, and Michael Lee Pichot of Titusville, Florida; a daughter Kimberly Faye Pichot of Titusville, Florida; two sisters, Marie Pingilley of Wood Haven, Michigan; Lucille Crain of Summerfield, Florida; a brother Wade Frazier of Ashland, KY, and two brother-in-laws, Donald Sommers and Caree Pingilley. Walter was preceded in death by eight brothers, Clinton, Lee, John, Frank, Lige, Jake, Eric, Ed Frazier; three sisters Goldie Czaran, Barbara Sommers, and Verda Glossenger; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend James Brandenburg officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park. Graveside Military Rites will be given by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
