Walter L. Gleason, 56
Walter L. Gleason, 56 of Portsmouth formerly of Friendship, died Friday October 14, 2011 at Southern Ohio Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born March 18, 1955 in Portsmouth to the late Murray and Hilda Gleason formerly of Friendship. He was a former member of the Laborers union. He loved working with cattle, his dogs and was an avid hunter. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew Russell "Rusty" Alloto formerly of Columbus.
Walter is survived by a son Daniel (Margaret) Ouellette and a granddaughter Danielle Ouellette all of Blue Creek, 6 brothers and 4 sisters; Russell (Lois) Gleason, Grace (Bob) Lane, Elaine, and Dorothy (Neal) Sunberg all of New York, Richard Gleason of Columbus, David (Candy) Gleason and Michael (Lois) Gleason all of Portsmouth, Jimmy (Debbie) Gleason and Johnny (Lisa) Gleason all of McDermott, thanks to a good friend who helped him Michael Caldwell, many nieces, nephews and children in his life; Chris Bond and Megan Rhea..
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday October 19, 2001 at First Christian Church of God, fellowship hall at 3920 Gallia Street in New Boston with Pastor Acy Gibson officiating. All friends and family welcome. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
