Wanda Lee Staggs, 85

Wanda Lee Frasher Staggs, 85 of Carey's Run Road, West Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2016 at SOMC Hospice. She was born April 22, 1931 on Carey's Run to the late Paul and Inez Bodmer Frasher. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Donald Staggs, a son Terrance Scott Staggs, daughter in law Ellen Wachovec Staggs, brothers; Paul, Loran (Dee), Elmer, and Glen Frasher.

Wanda was a graduate from Washington High School (Portsmouth West High School), Ohio University, and received her masters degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She devoted her life to her church (Temple Baptist), her family, and her career in education where she taught for 30 years in Ohio and Kentucky.

She is survived by her children; Patrick (Donna), Michael (Barbie), and Daniel (Joni) Staggs and Kristina (Jim) Welch, her best friend and sister Phyllis Meeker, 12 beloved grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday November 12, 2016 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with John Gowdy officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Temple Baptist Church or SOMC Hospice.
