William E. Cochran - 75

William Elza Cochran, 75, died January 21, 2005 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born December 3, 1929 to Elmer W. and Mary Stafford Cochran who both preceded him in death as did his son, Philip Dean Cochran, his sister, Betty Simon, and his brother, Joe Cochran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Simon Cochran; his daughters, Teri Smith and Andra Ayers and husband Jim; his sons, Rod Cochran and wife Tong, and Randy Cochran and wife Barb; his daughter-in-law, Brenda Cochran; and his sister, Sue Glenn and husband Dan.

He also leaves 13 grandchildren: Ryan Cochran, Malissa Cochran, Brandy Gampp, Randy Cochran II, Jake Cochran, Adam Cochran, Stephanie Plymale, Aaron Smith, Brandon Smith, Alison Thompson, Brianna Ayers, Jeremy Ayers, Lisa Tomazin; and 13 great grandchildren: Michigan Cochran, Sagan Gampp, Caitlyn Gampp, Samantha Gampp, Haylee Cochran, Trenton Hayslip, LivRyan Ayers, Brinkley Ayers, Emma Ayers, Amelia Ayers, Jillian Ayers, Dawson Tomazin, and Dillon Tomazin.

Bill retired from Empire Detroit Steel in 1982 after 27 years of service. After his retirement he spent most of his time building and flying remote-controlled airplanes. He was a charter member of the Southern Ohio Remote-Control Flyers Association (SORCFA). He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, January 24th at Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with funeral service immediately following. The service will be officiated by Bill's close friend, Chaplain Oscar Perry. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
