William Collier, 80
William Collier, 80, of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday July 29, 2008 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1928 in Portsmouth, to the late Kenneth and Goldie Collier. He was retired from Empire Detroit Steel, was a WWII Army Veteran a member of James Dickey Post 23 American Legion and the Moose Lodge. Along with his parents William was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ellis and Everett Collier and a sister Norma Jean Shepherd.
William is survived by 4 daughters; Peggy Ann (Robert) Adams and Linda Gail Collier Smith both of Knoxville TN., Kathy Jo (Gary) Spradlin of Seymour TN, and Brenda Gay Payton of New Boston, one son Kenneth Franklin Collier of Windsor, Mo, 12 grandchildren; Michelle Gampp, Chris and Eric Goddard, Michael and John Taylor, Danielle Spradlin, Melinda Mischlich, Jennifer Hayles, Willie Collier, Kimberly Sallee, Gary Brown and Matthew Spradlin and 15 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday August 1, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery with military graveside Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM till the hour of the funeral.
