William M. Cottrell, 76

William M. Cottrell, 76 of West Portsmouth, died Monday September 13, 2021 at SOMC Hospice. He was born February 27, 1945 in West Portsmouth to the late Walter and Mary Howard Cottrell.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Cottrell, a son William "Buddy" Cottrell, 2 brothers, Jackie and Walter Elwood Cottrell and a grandson Timmy Cottrell.

William was of the Pentecostal faith and loved life. He enjoyed race cars and hunting.

William is survived by 3 daughters; Debbie (Chris) Schneider, Kathy (Matt) Hapney and Beth Cottrell, a son Tim (Shelly) Cottrell, several grandchildren and great grandchildren along with special cousin Joyce and several other cousins and friends..

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday September 16, 2021 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Clyde Spencer officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday starting at 11:00 AM.
