William Hall, 83

William Hall, 83 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday June 24, 2014 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born July 7, 1930 in West Portsmouth to the late Kelly and Jane Austin Hall. He was a retired Laborer and a member of Laborers Local 83. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 276 of South Shore.  He was also a member of the Portsmouth Eagles. Along with his parents William was preceded in death by a son Brian Hall, a brother Kessie Hall, 2 sisters; Catherine Davis and Rena Haywood and a grandson in law Bobby Gilley.

William is survived by his wife Mary Alice Traylor Hall who he married on October 27, 1951, 2 sons; William Charles (Nancy) Hall of Cincinnati and Phillip Eugene Hall of West Portsmouth, 2 grandchildren; Aeric (Shannon) Hall of Cincinnati and Andrea Gilley of Stout,  2 great grandchildren; Cole and Maddie Gilley, a brother Donald Hall of South Shore, a sister Patty (Gary) Johnson of Portsmouth and a special friend and caregiver Susan Thornsberry.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday June 26, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Darrell Nickels officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
