William Henry Nelson Jr., 61
William Henry "Bill". Nelson Jr., 61 of Stout, died Saturday February 9, 2013 at SOMC Hospice. He was born September 9, 1951 in Portsmouth to the late William Henry Nelson Sr. and Peachie Irene Blevins Nelson of Stout. He was a truck driver, an avid hunter and loved going to church and spending time with his family. He was a member of the N.R.A., American Hunters Association and Unity Full Gospel Fellowship Church of New Boston. Along with his father he was also preceded in death by a brother Timothy Lee Nelson.
Along with his mother, Bill is survived by his wife Debbie Lykins Nelson who he married September 30, 1972, 2 sons; Chris Nelson of West Portsmouth and Barry Nelson of Stout, a daughter Amy (Steve) Pollitt of West Portsmouth, a brother Ronald Nelson and a sister Pamela Grandin both of West Portsmouth, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday February 13, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Richard Stiles officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donation's be made to the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
