William Ross Journey, 74

William Ross "Red" Journey, 74 of West Portsmouth went to be with the Lord, Tuesday March 1, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. He was born February 28, 1937 in Portsmouth to the late Cecil Wayne and Virginia Moore Journey. Along with his parents William was preceded in death by his wife Rita D. Bauer Journey who he married on June 2, 1954 in Deborne, IN, a brother, Jack E. Journey, 2 sisters; Betty Raines and Judith A. Duncan

Red was an operating engineer, where he was a crane operator in Higginsport, Ohio and Niagara Falls, New York. He worked for Frito-Lay for 18 years and was also the Owner/Operator of Journeys Auto Electric until he retired. Since his retirement, he has enjoyed working booths at 23 Southbound Flea Market, where he has made many friends.

He is survived by 2 sons; Edward W. "Rusty" Journey of South Portsmouth, Ky. and William A. Journey of West Portsmouth, 4 granddaughters; Crystal Belford and Heather Jones both of McDermott, Bronte Belford and Tiffany Belford both of South Portsmouth, 2 grandsons; William Joseph Journey of Rosemount and Anthony Journey of West Portsmouth, 3 great granddaughters; Kali Marie and Chelsi Jones of McDermott and Chloe Journey of Rosemount, 3 great grandsons; Caleb Journey of Rosemount, Colton and Bryson Journey of West Portsmouth, a brothers Donald Journey of West Portsmouth along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday March 3, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Wilson officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
