Brenda Joyce Pelphrey, 76

Brenda Joyce Pelphrey, 76 of Stout, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. She was born October 10, 1946, in Adams County to the late William Frederick and Bonnie Maude Young Hayslip.

Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family and faith were very important to her. She was a member of Pond Run Baptist Church since 1964 where she taught Sunday School and sang for over 50 years. She loved quilting, she made quilts for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also in the Ladies Auxiliary of Nile Township.

Along with her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her loving husband Mark Noble Pelphrey, whom she married on June 3, 1966; brothers Bob, Donald, David, and Dudley Hayslip and 2 sisters, Rosemary Curnutte and Mildred Boland.

Brenda is survived by a daughter Missy (Tony) Wolfe, a son Mark Douglas (Sheri) Pelphrey; 5 grandchildren Elizabeth (Michael) Thompson, Caleb (Sarah) Wolfe, Chloe (Brandon) Newsome, Abbie (Zak) Mowen, and Hannah Pelphrey; 6 great grandchildren Wyatt Newsome, Luke Thompson, Asa Thompson, Mark Silas Newsome, Liam Wolfe, and Elise Thompson; a sister Lois (Jack) Jenkins; a brother Tom (Mary) Hayslip, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 12, 2022, at Pond Run Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy McCullough officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 5 to 7:00 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
