Carolyn Sue Spriggs Locher, 84 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday January 16, 2024 at SOMC Hospice. She was born December 6, 1939 in South Shore, Kentucky to the late Harry and Alma Wolfenbarker Spriggs. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Boyd, her late husband, Chester L. Locher, a son Jack Lee Boyd, 2 brothers, Steve and Harry Lee Spriggs, a niece Tammy Bloomfield-Potter and a nephew Lee Bloomfield.
She was retired from Washington-Nile Local Schools, and was the owner of “Love on a Leash Dog Grooming”. Her greatest joy in life was being “Nanny” to all of her grandchildren. She loved watching the kids play sports and was always their biggest fan. Carolyn loved everyone, and she was sure to make you smile.
Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Kevin Boyd and Matt Locher (Tina). Her two grandchildren, Keely Nicole (Nathan) McGraw, and Kyle Nicolas (Terra) Locher, 4 great grandchildren whom were her greatest loves, Kenady and Griffin McGraw, and Graham and Greyson Locher, 2 sisters, Judy Maynard and Donna Bloomfield, daughter-in-law Tracey Boyd and leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.
Funeral services will be 1:00PM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with David Smith and Alex Bloomfield officiating and interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
