David Dale Morgan, 78

David Dale Morgan, 78 of McDermott, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at SOMC Hospice. He was born February 21, 1946, in Portsmouth, to the late Vernon and Delores Moriarty Morgan.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Scott Morgan, a brother, Jeffrey Morgan, and a sister, Susan Boling.

Dave was a 1964 graduate of Portsmouth High School and was retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 33 years of service. Dave loved sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. But his ultimate love was golf. He started at as young boy and played through his whole life. He was a lifetime member of the Portsmouth Elks Lodge #154 and a 60 year member of the Elks County Club.

Dave is survived by his wife, Rhonda Glass Morgan, who he married in June of 1990; 2 daughters, Lora Morgan and Misti Stevens; a sister, Barbara Gear; 3 grandchildren, Mariah Charleston, Charles Wilson II, and Grace Stevens; along with 2 great grandchildren, Charles Wilson III and Asher Wilson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Al Oliver and Jeff Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Saturday and one hour prior to the funeral on Sunday.
