Delores Joan Lusk, 88

Delores Joan “Jo” Lusk, 88 of McDermott, died Saturday February 3, 2018 at SOMC Hospice. She was born July 19, 1929 in New Boston to the late Bill and Alva Dora Chinn Hook. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of God in New Boston. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Lusk who she married on June 30, 1948, a daughter, Teresa Kamer and 2 sisters; Ruby Wolfe and Rosemary Darby.

Joan is survived by a son, Mark Thomas (Jill) Lusk of McDermott, 4 daughters; Susan Gail (Dan) Wilburn of Colorado, Sally (Tim) Harrison of Salvisa, KY, Lesa (Gary) Erlenwein of West Portsmouth and Mystery (Marcy Flamholtz) Lusk of Monroe, NY, a son in law Carl Kamer of Hawthorne, FL, 2 sisters; Norma Kiser and Billie Sue Blair both of Wheelersburg, 9 grandchildren; Russ (Sarah) Lusk, Errin (Ben) Tullis, Paige (Lance) Hale, Holly (Nate) Hawkins, Garrett Wilburn, Jennifer (David) DeLaRosa, Nick (Natalie) Erlenwein, Cassie (Ricky) Gahm, and Mason Lusk. 12 Great grandchildren: Lilliana Lusk, Alexa Lusk, McKayla Tullis, Abigail Tullis, Zachary Tullis, Odin DeLaRosa, Daphne Hale, Clarice Hawkins, Vincent Hawkins, Troy Erlenwein, Evelyn Kay Erlenwein, Xavier Gahm

Joan found joy wherever she could, especially in children—she loved them fiercely. She saw the world through the eyes of an artist, she loved music so she sang, she was a seamstress so she sewed for as long as she could, she was a devoted Christian and wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister so she prayed for her family—every single one of us, every single day. She will be missed by many.

Memorial service will be Saturday February 10th, at 5:00 pm at the First Church of God, 3920 Gallia St. New Boston Ohio. Friends may call after the service at the fellowship hall next to the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to SOMC Hospice in Delores’s name. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
