Dolcia Ann Hamilton, 89

Dolcia Ann (Bower) Hamilton, 89 of West Portsmouth, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. She was born September 2, 1934 in Portsmouth to the late George E. and Mary Helen Lovejoy Bower.

Dolcia was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School, class of 1952. Dolcia worked for 21 years at Williams Shoe Manufacturing, was member of First Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth and was a Den Mother to many Cub Scouts over the years.

Dolcia married her husband Fred H. Hamilton Sr., on March 15, 1952. Together they had 4 children; Fred H. Hamilton Jr., Elizabeth Ann (John) Watts, Scott E. Hamilton and Mark E. (Tina)Hamilton.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years Frederick Harold Hamilton, a son Scott Eric Hamilton, and 4 sisters: Donna Charlene (George) Essman, Loretta Grace (Carl) Henderson, Mary Alice (Bill) Dunham and Catherine Jean (Dallas) Ratcliff.

Dolcia is survived by her children: Fred, Liz and Mark as well as grandchildren: Becky (Keith) Bower, Rachel Borrowski, Josh (Christin) Hamilton, John (JD) (Megan) Watts, Zachary (Shelly) Watts, Heather (Dusty) Baker, Keith Hamilton and Scott (Caylee) Hamilton, along with several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Evan Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
