Ellen Elaine Smith, 77

Ellen Elaine Smith, 77 of West Portsmouth, died Saturday, February 4, 2023. She was born November 21, 1945 in Portsmouth to the late Shirley Edward and Helena Sowards Mershon.

Ellen retired from Mitchellace after 31 years of service.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Gary, Lawrence, Donald, Shirley Edward II and Homer Mershon, 6 sisters: Delores Meadows, Lowella Teeters, Geneva Ball, Dorothy Mershon, Joann Luther and Helen Summers.

Ellen is survived by 4 sons: Gary Smith, Shannon Smith, Sam Smith and Jeffrey Smith, a brother, John Mershon 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday February 9, 2023 at the Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Danny Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Mershon Cemetery.
