Forrest Spires, 86

Forrest Leroy Spires, 86 of Stout, died Saturday, April 5, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. He was born July 21, 1938 in Stout to the late Stanley Burlis and Anna Myrtle Ralston Spires.

Along with his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Janice Gifford Spires; a son, Tim Spires; and 2 brothers, Stanley Carl Spires and Donald Burlis Spires.

Forrest was retired from Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and Rome Masonic Lodge #535, where he served as the former secretary of the Lodge.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Cindy Spires; 2 grandchildren, Lindsay (Kenny) Brown and Ben (Emily) Spires; a great granddaughter, Sutton Brown; his niece and caregiver, Teresa Maynard; as well as several more nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with a Masonic service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday April, 9, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Pastor Tom Williams officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Rome Masonic Lodge #535. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 11:00AM. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery.
