Freda Mae Shaw, 65

Freda Mae Shaw, 65 of West Portsmouth, died Monday, January 2, 2023 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born June 9, 1957 in Portsmouth to the late Harold and Freda Pollard Lunsford.

Along with her parents, Freda was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Lee and Roger Lunsford.

Freda had her own housekeeping business as well as working for Concord nursing Home and River Run Health Care. She loved racing, Reds baseball and Bluegrass festivals. She loved her job, her residents were her second family.

Freda is survived by her husband, Craig Shaw, whom she married on January 10, 1975, a daughter Leslie (Stephen Fyffe) Shaw, a son Ryan (Melissa Renner) Shaw, a brother Robert Lunsford, 2 sisters Darlene Hinkle and Barb Kelly, a great niece, Isabella Browning and one grandson Isaac Fyffe. The family would like to thank SOMC Hospice and the nurses at SOMC Progressive Care Unit for their special care of Freda. Thanks to Megan, Kacey, Melanie, Kathy and Nikki. The family request in lieu of flowers , donations be made to SOMC Hospice.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday January 6, 2022 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery.
