Gary D. McNutt Sr., 76 of West Portsmouth, died Monday, December 18, 2023 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1947 in Portsmouth, to the late Wendall McNutt and Mary Jane Holsinger Vaughn.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie McNutt.

Gary was a United States Air Force veteran and was retired from CSX Railroad. Gary was also a member of Lifepoint Church. He was a true Westsider, loving all the sports. He also was a big Buckeyes fan and loved the outdoors. Gary brought laughter to wherever he was. You never knew what he was going to say or do.

Gary is survived by the love of his life, his wife Tammy Adkins McNutt, whom he married on February 22, 1991 in West Portsmouth, his Hero, his son, DJ McNutt, his favorite daughter in law, Adreonna McNutt, the light of his life, his grandson Braxton, brothers and sisters; his closest being Duane(Penny) McNutt and Debbie (Steve) Gray, a brother in law, Jerry (Cammy) Adkins, 2 sisters in law; Tracy Adkins Cooper and Annette McNutt Altman, best friend Danny Traylor and last but not least his sidekick and other son “Sparta”.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Dr. Greg Hudson officiating.
