Hazel Louise Holley Bloomfield of Hill View Retirement Community, formerly of West Portsmouth, passed away Monday, June 20, 2005.

She was born October 3, 1922 in Portsmouth, Ohio and the daughter of the late William Thomas (Jack) Holley and Iva Wheeler Holley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Bloomfield.

Surviving are daughters. Linda (Jerry) Huffman of Franklin Furnace, Ohio and Evelyn (Bill) Wilson of West Portsmouth. Three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Melissa) Huffman of Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Amy (Ray) Kuhn of Lucasville and Christopher Bloomfield of Allentown, Pennsylvania. Four great grandchildren, Madison and Andrew Kuhn of Lucasville, Ohio and Zachary and Ethan Huffman of Franklin Furnace, Ohio. She is also survived by a special friend, Bill.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Holley and an infant brother, and sister, Gladys Marie Holley.

Hazel was very active in the Sixth District and the Scioto County Democrat Party and was Democrat of the Year in 1974. She was also a member of the Harry S. Truman Club and a former Democrat precinct committee woman in Washington G. She was also the coordinator for the Jim Smith State Senator campaign and a staff member for the Jimmy Carter Presidential Campaign. She was a very active volunteer at Southern Ohio Medical Center working in the gift shop, snack shop and the Nearly New Shop. She was also a past member of the Tuberculosis Board.

Services will be conducted at Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 1:00 P. M. with Rev. Robert Temple officiating. Burial will follow at Buckeye Cemetery, Haverhill, Ohio. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22nd and one hour before the funeral.
