Herbert Franklin McGraw, 88 of Mary Esther, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Herbert (Herb) was born in Scioto County, Ohio on November 21, 1934, to the late William Ernest and Marietta Pearl (Blair) McGraw.
Herb was a US Army Veteran serving in Company E, 2nd Armored Calvery Regiment in Bamberg, Germany. He was a long-time residence of Scioto County and former golf course superintendent at the Elks County Club. He retired to Florida where he enjoyed manicuring his yard, deep-sea fishing in his boat and traveling with his many friends and family. He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather and loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by five brothers, William Ernest McGraw Jr., Raymond Fredrick McGraw, Clyde Leroy McGraw, Franklin Delano McGraw, and Douglas Arthur McGraw.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 65 years Deleena Anne (Hunt) McGraw, four children, Christy (Dave Zobrist) Murray, Vaunda (JD) Kennard, Gregory McGraw, and David (Connie) McGraw. Eight grandchildren, Jeremy Jason Kennard, Jared (Amy) McGraw, Gregory Nicholas McGraw, Jamie (Paige) Murray, Cody (Michaela) Murray, Evanne (Brandon) Hippler, Kalyn (Marc) McGraw, and Christian McGraw. Also, 15 great grandchildren, two sisters, Vaunda Zuefle and Mable (Gerald) Vassar, 4 sister-in laws, Johanna McGraw, Betty Jean McGraw, Sharon Serl and Terry Phillips, a brother-in-law Ernest (Dorothy) Hunt along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday November 11, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Chris Zuefle officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with military rites provided by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 12:00 PM.
