Larry Joe Carpenter, 76

Larry Joe Carpenter, 76 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his home. He was born August 24, 1948 in Portsmouth to the late Joseph and Betty Shepherd Carpenter.

Larry was a United States Navy Veteran. He formerly worked at the N&W Railroad and also worked at Solar, building jet engines.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Irene Carpenter.

Larry is survived by a 3 sons, Wayne Eugene Shepherd, Scott Carpenter and Tyson Carpenter and a daughter Angela Irene Shepherd, 5 grandchildren, Ned Shepherd, Jessica Shepherd. Brian, Eric and Mark McCormick along with 8 great grandchildren.

Private services will held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
