Norman Luther Gross, 76

Norman Luther Gross, 76 of Portsmouth, died Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Pavilion of Piketon. He was born April 24, 1948 in Cincinnati to the late Luther and Ruth Blanton Gross.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 stepsons; Emory Dials and Franklin Dials Jr., 2 brothers; Ralph Gross and Paul Gross.

Norman was a United States Marine Corp Veteran and a lifetime member of AMVETS. He was a retired Welder of 20 years for Harrison Walker.

Norman is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Adkins Gross, whom he married on October 10, 1997, a son Norman Richard Gross, a daughter Mary Kathleen Tripp, step daughters; Lisa Webb and Bonita Belcher, a sister Sandra Litton, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Keith Webb officiating. Interment will be in Worley’s Run Cemetery with Military graveside rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday starting at 11:00 AM.
