Patricia “Patty” Evans Cooper, 81 of West Portsmouth, died Monday, July 31, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. She was born April 30, 1942 in Portsmouth to the late Hiram Oakley and Lillian Sarah McGraw Bevis.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Willard Cooper, a son Gerald Evans Jr. and a sister Sharon Puckett.
Patty Cooper was a loving wife, grandmother and devoted Christian. Her lifes work was to ensure that her home, husband, children and grandchildrenwere cared for. Her best quality was to teach and care for others. Her likes, were spring flowers and morning coffee with her husband.
Patty is survived by 3 sons: Gregory Evans, Patrick Evans and Keion Mardis Cooper, a daughter Keima Bennett, 6 grandchildren: Rebecca Evans, Valerie Evans, Stephanie Evans, Matthew Evans, Katie Evans and Emily Jo Evans, 12 great grandchildren: Wayne Evans, Kattaleya Crawford, Kaprice Grier, Jerome Oakley Evans, Jeremah Evans, Misha Evans, Jessa Bivens, Gabriel Evans, Noel Evans, Levi Underwood, Layne Underwood and Riley Litke along with 2 great great grandchildren: Alonni Richards and Jepson Evans.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Brian Baer officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
